Project Statement

Based off of market research of other butterfly chairs I have seen I realized that almost all of them have the wings curving around the user as a sort of cradle. While this design is more functional I aimed to create a chair that could add onto the human form and create a feeling and sense of whimsy by allowing the user to become a fairy sitting in the forest. Inspired by a sketch of a fairy sitting and hugging her knees I created The Butterfly Backrest.
